We study the time series data of spectral lines originating from a wide range of temperatures in the solar transition region and corona, within coronal hole, with SUMER (Solar Ultraviolet Measurements of Emitted Radiation) on SoHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory). We will report on the dynamics and properties of these small scale transients as observed from the spectral line diagnostics. We will address on the question, if the the observed intensity and velocity changes are due to waves and/or are linked with recurrent magnetic reconnection process. Our data also reveal long periodicities (10-90 min), previously observed with different SoHO instruments. The implication to solar wind acceleration and coronal heating will be also addressed. |
